Spring Has Sprung

Well, hot dog!  Warm weather has descended and the garden is responding.  It’s nice to be able to roll up my sleeves and get back to the original focus of this blog…gardening.  Enough of this waiting for the growing season and being reflective about the winter garden at rest!
Henny and Penny are busy at work creating “amendments” for the dirt (I know they do that year round but it sounds so much better with the sun out and the birds chirping).  They’re also sharpening a couple of wing feather quill pens for their blogging debut.  They’re a bit bitter about the wing clipping part but we’ll get to that another time.
This is just a short message to announce the arrival of the first fruit from the garden.  Without further adieu….drum roll…..
The First Blueberry Is Ripe!!!

That’s all for now…I’m going outside to see what other surprises I can find.

How exciting! I wonder if they grow in Colorado?

Possibly better than in California. Check with a good, local nursery. We have two varieties – both in very large pots

Good to see Henny & Penny are hard at work! Blueberries – how fun! When we rented while we renovated, there were wild raspberry bushes behind the house – my girls went wild picking them!
